Diese Handschrift besteht aus drei Teilen. Der erste Teil des Codex entstand im 12. Jahrhundert und enthält als ältestes Kopialbuch der Freisinger Bischofskanzlei Abschriften der wichtigsten Urkunden, d. h. vor allem solcher der Kaiser und Könige, für das Bistum aus der Zeit zwischen 816 und 1158. Als zweiter Teil ist das älteste Besitzverzeichnis des Bistums aus der Zeit um 1160 anzusehen. An dieses schließt sich ein jüngeres Kopialbuch an, das vorwiegend Urkunden des 13. Jahrhunderts zu den österreichischen Besitzungen Freisings beinhaltet.

This manuscript consists of three parts. The first part was created in the 12th century and, as the oldest cartulary of the Freising bishop's office, contains copies of the most important documents, especially those of the emperors and kings, for the diocese from the period between 816 and 1158. The second part is the oldest inventory of the diocese and originates from around 1160. This is followed by a younger cartulary, which mainly contains documents from the 13th century on the Austrian possessions of Freising.
